Boundary Lines

About

A studio working at the edge of categories.

Boundary Lines is an independent digital studio, founded in 2026. We make games, tools, and writing for people who spend most of their lives on the internet and expect more from it.

We're small on purpose. The point isn't to be the biggest site in any category — it's to build a body of work with a recognisable point of view, in the open, week by week.

One rule: if we can't show the process, we don't publish the result.

Principles

Draw your own lines

We don't build for a category. No one asked for a game studio that publishes market reports. We do both because the same curiosity produces both.

Build in public

Traffic, revenue, failed experiments — the process is the product. Every Monday we publish the numbers. The bad weeks get the same typeface as the good ones.

Design first

Restraint is a feature. Every page here is designed before it's written, and cut after it's written. If a sentence isn't carrying weight, it's gone.

What Building in Public Means Here

The phrase gets used loosely. For us it comes down to four commitments, each of which costs something when a week goes badly — which is the only reason they are worth making.

  • 01The weekly numbers go up whether they moved forward or back.
  • 02Experiments are published with a hypothesis and a verdict, including the ones that lost money.
  • 03A wrong call gets corrected on the piece itself, not quietly in a footnote.
  • 04What we have not built yet is named as such, rather than dressed up as coming soon.

How the Week Works

Monday 06:00 UTC
Everything updates at once — report, journal piece, numbers, experiment log.
One week, one cycle
What gets shipped, written, tested, and learned is decided and published inside the same seven days.
No backlog theatre
Nothing is announced before it exists. If a line is empty, it stays empty until it is not.

Where the Lines Are Going

100+
evergreen articles worth linking to
10+
products we own end to end
3
channels — site, YouTube, Medium — working as one system

We're not there. These numbers update as we get closer.

Get in Touch

Corrections, disagreements, and questions about anything published here are all welcome — particularly corrections. If a number is wrong, we would rather hear it from you than find it ourselves six weeks later.
